McLaughlin Web Systems is a small web design agency based in Halifax, Nova Scotia. We focus on developing an online presence for our clients by creating professional websites that help drive business.

I graduated from Dalhousie University in 2020 with a degree in Computer Science. I’ve been designing websites for clients since 2019 and started McLaughlin Web Systems in the spring of 2020. I work one-on-one with my clients to come up with a website solution that works for them. We charge by the job (not an hourly rate) and no job is complete until the client is happy.
In 2021 we tripled our website output from the previous year and we’re on track to do the same this year. Our clients trust us with their websites and we’re happy to deliver outstanding results for a reasonable price.

We build custom websites starting at $1,200. The cost of your website is determined by how many pages you need as well as the design and technical features.

Your website quote will include the full cost to design and build your website. In most cases, we include several quotes for different options at different price points. Your quote will also include the cost to host your website on our web server. All of our websites include contact forms and basic SEO setup.
We can also include a quote for monthly and/or yearly updates for your website.
Yes, you need web hosting.
A web host stores your website on a computer (which runs 24/7). This makes it so that your site is accessable to anyone on the internet at any time.
MWS provides very competitive rates for website hosting! Also, when you host with MWS you save on any website maintenance services!
Thats why we’re here! MWS will handle all of the technical, design and hosting setup for your website. All our client needs to do is provide text/media for the website.
Not sure what needs to go on your site? We will work with you to determine what content you need on your site. MWS can also provide feedback on any copy you provide for your site, esuring the best possible results for SEO.
Generally speaking, yes. We build websites using WordPress, meaning your website will have an admin dashboard where you can make changes to your website. We can offer training on how to use WordPress.
Not feeling confident in your website building skills? Most of our clients keep MWS on retainer if regular updates are required. We offer monthly/yearly update packages to keep your site fresh. Along with updates to your site, these plans include website backups and small changes to site design.
